Wizardmon's Reference Sheet - OLD

‘Digimon: Corrupted Files’ is a Digimon fanfic of the Original Flavour type (well, at least that’s my intention) and a far, far, FAR further in the future sequel of the first season of the TV show, although this connection with ‘Digimon Adventure’ will be just implied.

I’ll be sharing the reference sheets of all the characters as I make them, along with a little information about them. I do this because I want FEEDBACK on character building, so look, read and start typing

The first character to be created for this self-insertion fanfic was my self-insert, Belinda. And since this is a wish-fulfilment self-insertion fanfic, my her partner just HAD TO be a Wizardmon.
Wizardmons in DCF are heavily based on that of the TV show’s first season, since it’s the only piece of the canon that is, well, ‘canon’ for DCF, although no other Wizardmon has appeared in the series as far as I know. There was that Sorcerymon that was practically a recolour, but still... Basically, Wizardmons are plushies that use magic. Their powers are:
Magical fire explosions
Magical shields
Magical healing powers
Floating and flying by magical means

Of course, every Wizardmon is different. The strong suit of Belinda’s partner is attack and his shields are pretty decent, but healing drains too much of his energy. Even though he’s male, his personality and skills practically make him a Lady of Black Magic.

His colours are black and blue, and his motiv are chains – something Belinda shares (well, she always wears a silver chain to carry her locket) and will inherit in her Witchmon form. His own personal staff, the Solar Cranium, is based on that of the series’ Wizardmon and is the counterpart of Witchmon’s Lunar Cranium.

About Wizardmon:

He joined Devimon’s troops long before the beginning of ‘Digimon: Corrupted Files’ out of fear: as a Rookie he had no fighting abilities at all and was very weak. Seeking Devimon’s protection was as an act of cowardice that he regrets deeply.

As Devimon’s servant, he received a – presumably stolen – Holy Ring to digivolve into his Champion form, Wizardmon (the one he self-identifies the most, as he hates his Rookie self) and become a destructive weapon – thus attack being his strong suit.

By the time he is ordered to capture Chosen Kids (at the beginning of DCF), he’s been questioning Devimon’s evil crusade and his role in it due to regret. Humans are sacred creatures in the Digital World and hurting them is a great taboo – the idea of taking part in such a thing is too much for him and becomes the reason why he betrays Devimon to save his own hostage Belinda.

So in a nutshell, Wizardmon is an atoner. Belinda talks him into joining the group of Chosens and makes him her Digimon partner to give him a second chance in life (Stockholm Syndrome? No, what happens between them is more like Lima Syndrome). DCF is his Redemption Quest.

Wizardmon is serious, quiet and somehow stern. In the group, he’s like a guarding shadow that takes care of the younger; during battles, he’s one of the main fighters, specially at the beginning, when he’s the only Champion fighter.

At first, none of the other members of the just-created group is keen on the idea of having a Devimon’s minion as a companion. Eventually he’s accepted as some kind of loosely paternal figure – still, most of them still think Belinda is his Morality Chain (with Ponymon being the most untrusting), but after spending enough time as a Chosen he actually cares about them all.
